Untitled Document The 2012 ACU British Quadcross Championship opens in style on the 15th April 2012 at the sandy circuit of Mepal Moto Park. This year’s opening event is being organised by West Devon MMC and will be in conjunction with the British Sidecar Championship, guaranteeing an action packed day of highly competitive racing.

It will also be a time for reflection as we start the 2012 season without Mark Watson after he tragically lost his life in a road accident on Boxing Day last year.  Mark would have certainly been a hot favourite for the British and European titles in 2012 and his death has deeply affected every part of the quad and sidecar fraternity.

Current QX Champ John Mitchell has recently announced he won’t be defending his title and is concentrating on new challenges as he enters the ACU British XC Championship events.

Throughout the winter months, the best UK riders have been training hard to compete for the British title. With the likes of Paul Holmes (Yamaha), Carl Bunce (Suzuki) and David Wray (Honda) performing strong during the 2011 season, we can safely say that the fight for the championship will remain as competitive as ever. This year will also see a number of budding champions rise from the youth ranks to battle for the 2012 championship. These “new kids on the block” will face fierce competition from a highly competitive and talented group of riders who battled hard in the 2011 season with the top 10 places being decided right down to the last race.

Changes for 2012 see QX, Under 21, Masters and new Clubman class battle it out in the same exciting race, ensuring a thrilling day’s racing.
